Below outlines how we went about securing the iFitness store site from Brute-force Attack.

1. Disabled default WP-Login page and replaced it with a hidden page so attackers can't find it.

2. Updated site login credentials with more complex username and password combinations.

3. Activated a login limiter to discourage multiple attempts to crack the login credentials.

4. Reviewed all user access levels and updated user permissions.

5. Created and implemented strong password policies, which are key components of access control within data compliance frameworks.

Process

Below outlines how we went about securing the iFitness store site from Brute-force Attack.

1. During Audit, we realized that the client's subdomain was hacked and used to link to malicious websites as a means to boost the attacker's website SEO.

2. We established communication with the Hosting company to gain backdoor entrance to the site via FTP and changed the login parameters on the WordPress install. This took back control from the cybercriminals.

3. We redirected the subdomain to the root domain to pass all SEO benefits accumulated on the subdomain to the parent site.

4. We reviewed all user access levels and updated user permissions.

5. Created and implemented strong password policies, which are key components of access control within data compliance frameworks.
